As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.As a Direct Care Associate III working with adults in a residential setting, you will provide positive mentoring and guidance to individuals impacted by behavioral health disorders. You will serve as a role model, exhibiting a positive and respectful approach in all interactions. You will teach daily living activities, including household tasks, hygiene task, effective communication, and socialization with the goal of helping those you serve increase their independence. An important part of this position is assisting the individuals articulate their goals and what is important for them. You will teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies to assist them in reaching their goals. You will thrive in this position if you have a passion for teaching individuals life skills and how to overcome barriers that may be present in their lives. To be considered for this position, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; and two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations. Communications - hybrid based at ND State Hospital in Jamestown, ND - Communications Specialist Tell the story of the ND State Hospital (NDSH) and the important work it performs to solve our state's behavioral health crisis. As a Communications Specialist embedded with NDSH, you'll partner with agency-wide Communications team members and leaders to create internal and external messages about the facility, its people and its impact. This is a new position, based at the ND State Hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota. It is full-time, Monday through Friday. Also, it is a hybrid position with the expectation of being onsite approximately three (3) days per week. Daily, you'll listen, diagnose needs, and offer solutions. You'll coordinate, create, solicit, edit and submit content for communication campaigns. You'll build strong relationships with the media and the Jamestown community. And you'll provide support for crisis communication, organizational culture building and workforce development activities. Most importantly, you'll drive communications projects across the finish line.To be successful in this position, you must have storytelling capabilities across multiple channels, media and community relations experience, and a marketing mindset. You've created content for internal newsletters, social and legacy media. You know how to use storytelling to connect the dots to influence positive change. To be considered for this position, you must have the following:a bachelor's degree focused on communications or marketing, AND1-3 years of professional experience in media relations, storytelling and community relations, ANDtwo (2) news related writing samples provided via a link or upload. One sample must be a news release, an article, or blog post.
